Peace Which Passeth All Understanding

You can live in perfect peace. Isaiah 26:3

In Isaiah 9:6, The Bible calls Jesus the "Prince of Peace".

A life totally surrendered to the Lordship of Jesus Christ is the peaceful life - regardless of what is happening in your personal life or in the world around you.

How do you experience this peace?

You must be born again. John 3:3-5

Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new. 2 Corinthians 5:17

By faith, you must be filled with the Holy Spirit.

But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you. Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid. John 14:26-27

Every day will bring new challenges to your peace. But every day also holds a new promise of peace from God that is unlike the peace the world offers.

As you learn to walk each day in the power of the Holy Spirit, you will begin to experience the peace that is promised as part of the "fruit of the Spirit" (Gal. 5:22; Isaiah 32:17). Every time anxiety creeps into your life, you can turn to the Lord and God will bless you with peace that surpasses understanding. (Phil. 4:7).

God understands all things, we don’t understand everything. As Believer's, we have something that is of a surpassing value to all understanding, and that is the peace of God.

Paul says in Philippians 4:7: “And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.”

The idea of passeth all understanding has a couple levels of meaning. First, it means that God’s peace is so wonderful that it is beyond our ability to understand it with our mere logic, mental faculties and reasoning abilities.

As Believer's, we have calm in our spirits and are tranquil internally even when life is chaotic and falling to pieces around us. Peace is not about who is in our lives or about what is happening in our lives. Peace comes from the Holy Spirit and life in Christ.

Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee. Isaiah 26:3

Paul is saying that the peace of God so wonderful that it defies our minds’ ability to understand it. It is preferable to us trying to figure out our lives and trying to understand our circumstances.

We can have His peace despite our lack of understanding as we trust that God will help us, teach us, tell us what we need to know and guide us as to what we are supposed to do in response to Him.

God's Peace, when we trust God in all aspects of our lives, it enables us to have peace regardless of the storms, trials, tribulation, tests, attacks of the enemy or whatever is happening in our lives.

We only see such a small part of the entire picture of what is really happening. As a result, we are much better off simply trusting rather than trying to understand God’s every move.

God is always busy at work causing all things to work for our good:

And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose. Romans 8:28

In confusing times, we can still have God's peace - it is a fruit of the Holy Spirit.
This internal tranquility and comfort requires that we trust God in all aspects of our life, that we rest in His plan, that we cast our cares upon Him, and that we accept the fact that we may not understand what God is doing.

His peace, however, is better than knowing His every move. We need to receive this truth in all humility and thankfulness.

Goodness and mercy shall follow us all the days of our lives. We must trust Him even when we are confused, hurting, grieving, worried, fearful.

Regardless of what you are experiencing in life, you can have His Peace as you keep your mind stayed on thee and trust Him.

Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the Lord for ever. Psalm 23:6
