Witchcraft

Magical services are Witchcraft. Witchcraft is rebellion against God as He is the ONLY One who can perform miracles.

For rebellion is as the sin of witchcraft, and stubbornness is as iniquity and idolatry. Because thou hast rejected the word of the Lord, he hath also rejected thee from being king. 1 Samuel 15:23

Ye are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it. And because I tell you the truth, ye believe me not. John 8:44-45

All supernatural power comes from either God or Satan. God gives power to those who believe in Jesus Christ. To approach God, salvation through a personal relationship with His Son, Jesus Christ is the cost of entry.

It is the opposite with Satan, whose nature is deception. Satan gives power to those who believe a lie. Believing the lie is the cost of entry to access Satan's power.

Witchcraft bolsters up the lie with: mystery, pseudo-science, ancient knowledge, new knowledge, etc.... The more absurd the lie, the better.

Satan's schemes include: if we mix certain ingredients in a drink... if we eat a special herb... if we arrange candles in a certain configuration... if we stare into a crystal ball... if we turn over Tarot cards... if we "read" the stars or tea leaves... if we speak a certain phrase, or mantra... if we have secret knowledge... if we draw certain symbols... then spiritual forces will come into play.

This wisdom descendeth not from above, but is earthly, sensual, devilish. James 3:15

Witchcraft starts with a heart of rebellion and works by focusing on a distraction, a lie, which is some technique purported to release power. It is important to have faith, to trust in the technique and not God. Believing in lies is an acceptable sacrifice to Satan, the father of lies, who honors his children with real power. The irony is, that due to the inherent deceptive basis of witchcraft, the practitioners of it often think they are serving God, while accessing a power from below - not from above.

For rebellion is as the sin of witchcraft, and stubbornness is as iniquity and idolatry. Because thou hast rejected the word of the Lord, he hath also rejected thee from being king. 1 Samuel 15:23

Because they rebelled against the words of God, and contemned the counsel of the most High: Psalms 107:11

Nevertheless they were disobedient, and rebelled against thee, and cast thy law behind their backs, and slew thy prophets which testified against them to turn them to thee, and they wrought great provocations. Nehemiah 9:26

Satan is "father of lies", he honors the self-delusion inherent in witchcraft by occasionally releasing power, even doing supernatural miracles for those who have rebelled against God and yet still want to be spiritually effective. By this means, real power can be exerted to achieve health, beauty, enchantment, supernatural sensitivity, insight through drugs and experiences, oracles and visions, and the like. In this sense, witchcraft works.

And the magicians of Egypt did so with their enchantments: and Pharaoh's heart was hardened, neither did he hearken unto them; as the Lord had said. Exodus 7:22

And the magicians did so with their enchantments, and brought up frogs upon the land of Egypt. Exodus 8:7

Witchcraft is characterized by belief in knowledge from below, and rejection of knowledge from above. In it's more advanced and powerful stages, delusion and belief in what is clearly not of God is key. Satan's tacit deal is: if you sacrifice truth on his altar, he will give you power for what you want now. But lies are flimsy things to put your trust in.

And the magicians did so with their enchantments to bring forth lice, but they could not: so there were lice upon man, and upon beast. Exodus 8:18

Stand now with thine enchantments, and with the multitude of thy sorceries, wherein thou hast laboured from thy youth; if so be thou shalt be able to profit, if so be thou mayest prevail. Isaiah 47:12

Relying on technique and not God - is witchcraft. Miracles may be done, supernatural power may come into play. The soul doing these works is not yielded to God's will, it is an act of rebellion against God. The witch in all of us wants God on a leash. They think God must perform a trick for them when they jerk His chain. Satan twists Scripture: But doesn't God say...? (Matthew 4:5-6, Genesis 3:1)

The destiny of those who continue to practice witchcraft is certain even if they think their miracles are good works.

Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works? Matthew 7:22

Thou shalt not take the name of the Lord thy God in vain; for the Lord will not hold him guiltless that taketh his name in vain. Exodus 20:7

For without are dogs, and sorcerers, and whoremongers, and murderers, and idolaters, and whosoever loveth and maketh a lie. Revelation 22:15

But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death. Revelation 21:8

They are of those that rebel against the light; they know not the ways thereof, nor abide in the paths thereof. Job 24:13

Who is in control? Who gets the glory? In whom, or in what, are we trusting?

And they caused their sons and their daughters to pass through the fire, and used divination and enchantments, and sold themselves to do evil in the sight of the Lord, to provoke him to anger. 2 Kings 17:17

For these nations, which thou shalt possess, hearkened unto observers of times, and unto diviners: but as for thee, the Lord thy God hath not suffered thee so to do. Deuteronomy 18:14

Only acknowledge thine iniquity, that thou hast transgressed against the Lord thy God, and hast scattered thy ways to the strangers under every green tree, and ye have not obeyed my voice, saith the Lord. Jeremiah 3:13

Many of them also which used curious arts brought their books together, and burned them before all men: and they counted the price of them, and found it fifty thousand pieces of silver. Acts 19:19

Who is wise, and he shall understand these things? prudent, and he shall know them? for the ways of the Lord are right, and the just shall walk in them: but the transgressors shall fall therein. Hosea 14:9

Ye shall not eat any thing with the blood: neither shall ye use enchantment, nor observe times. Leviticus 19:26

Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me. John 14:6

For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. John 3:16

Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light. Matthew 11:28-30

Accept Jesus Christ, repent, pray, ask to be filled with the Holy Spirit, study the King James Bible, and take the yoke of Jesus upon you.
