Christmas

If you believe that Christmas is a pagan holiday, and shouldn't be celebrated, then don't celebrate Christmas.

I personally believe it is a pagan holiday. But, Christmas is also an open door and opportunity to reach out to those have not received Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior.

It is clear that there are two ways to celebrate Christmas:

The Worldly Way — Santa Claus, a decorated tree, Rudolph the Reindeer, the north pole, elves, Frosty the Snowman, secular songs about Christmas, booze, parties, Rock music, buying and giving gifts, etc.

The Christian Way — Jesus Christ, sharing the Gospel message of Salvation in Jesus Christ, soul winning, praying with people, helping the poor in Jesus' name, ministering on the streets, under bridges, giving away food, visiting the hospitals and praying with people in the hospital, etc.

Opponents of Christmas, condemn Christians who celebrate Christmas on the basis of the world's way of observing Christmas.

Christians certainly may observe Christmas time by honoring the Lord through sharing the Gospel, helping the poor, giving to others, reading scriptures, time spent in prayer and time spent drawing closer to the Lord.

I sincerely think God hates Christmas, because of the way the world celebrates it; however, I am also confident that God is pleased with those few believers who genuinely celebrate the birth of the Lord Jesus Christ and reach out to others with the Love of Christ and the Gospel message. This is something Believer's in Jesus Christ should do every day, not just at "Christmas" time.

We are commanded by Jesus to do the Work The Great Commission every day:

Matthew 28:16-20 King James Version (KJV)

16 Then the eleven disciples went away into Galilee, into a mountain where Jesus had appointed them.

17 And when they saw him, they worshipped him: but some doubted.

18 And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth.

19 Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:

20 Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world. Amen.

"Christmas" day is no different than any other day of the year. Every day is a divine appointment and opportunity to share the Love of Christ with those who have not yet heard.

Believer's in Jesus Christ should be obedient to scripture and be doers of the Word, not hearers only.

James 1:22: But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves.

People are often lonely, depressed, suicidal and often experiencing many other array of emotions and/or troubles during the "Holiday season".

When people are down, hurting, physically ill, or whatever crisis they may be facing, it is an open door to share the Gospel message of Salvation in Jesus Christ with them. The enemy of our souls has beaten the person down, Jesus Christ can and will lift them up out of the miry clay and set them on the right path in Him.

Whenever Satan attacks regardless of what that attack is: ie a death in the family, depression, loss of job, rape, murder, theft, or whatever the crisis is, as Believers in Jesus Christ we have a responsibility to respond with the Gospel message of Salvation in Jesus Christ.

Watch for open doors the Lord provides every day. Keep your divine appointments as the Lord sets up opportunities for you to share the Love of Christ, the Gospel message of Salvation in Jesus Christ and give to meet the needs of the people He brings in to your life.

Christmas is a pagan holiday that has nothing to do with Christianity. In fact, the King James Bible identifies the christmas tree:

Jeremiah 10:2 Thus saith the LORD, Learn not the way of the heathen, and be not dismayed at the signs of heaven; for the heathen are dismayed at them.

Jeremiah 10:3 For the customs of the people are vain: for one cutteth a tree out of the forest, the work of the hands of the workman, with the axe.

Jeremiah 10:4 They deck it with silver and with gold; they fasten it with nails and with hammers, that it move not.
